This building is more than just a home, it is a form of art. Composed of 21 containers, it also includes an outdoor space level on every level. Others have gone to describe a lap pool, barbecue pit, a private drive-in garage, and bleacher-style seating in the family room. Although this project has not been as large as other projects, it does not diminish the value of this building and the concept behind it.
21 steel containers were stacked and cut diagonally from the top and bottom to create an angular profile. It is a sculptural masterpiece and it invokes the industrial past associated with Williamsburg. Williamsburg has been known to be a rapid changing neighborhood so it is only fitting that such a building has become part of it. The 25×100-feet building can be found on a Brooklyn street corner, for all to view.
However, the design and cut still allows for some privacy. This includes a private outdoor space at each level in this single-family residence. Each deck can be accessed through large windows that offer both cross ventilation and light. The outdoor spaces are connected by a steel stair along the north wall.
